German transcription: what to expect
- German nouns are capitalised and umlauts (ä, ö, ü) and ß are written correctly, so the transcript reads like normal written German.
- Long compound words are transcribed as single words, the way German writes them.
- German often puts the main verb at the end of a clause, so translation waits for the sentence to finish before producing English.
- Speakers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are all transcribed with the German option; strong Swiss German dialect is less accurate than standard German.

Can I translate English speech into German?
Yes. Choose English as the source and German as the target — see the English to German page.
Does it understand Swiss German?
Standard German spoken with a Swiss accent works well. Broad Swiss German dialects are harder and may be transcribed less accurately.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New accounts get 10 free minutes after signing in with Google — no credit card. Transcription uses credits at 1× and translation at 2×, so that is up to 10 minutes of transcription or 5 minutes of translation. Paid plans start at $9.9/month.
Do I need to install anything?
No. LiveToka runs in the browser. The latest Chrome, Edge or Safari is recommended.
Is my audio used to train AI?
No. Your voice recordings and transcripts are not used to train AI models.
