Live Translate Zoom Meetings in Real Time

LiveToka translates what you hear in a Zoom call without adding a bot to the meeting or asking the host to change settings. It works the same way for Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex and LINE calls: LiveToka listens to the call audio on your computer and shows a live transcript and translation in a browser tab.

Step by step

  1. Open LiveToka in Chrome or Edge in a separate window next to Zoom.
  2. Choose the language people speak in the meeting as the source, and your language as the target.
  3. Route the meeting audio into LiveToka (see "Getting the meeting audio in" below).
  4. Click Start Service. The transcript and translation appear as people speak.
  5. When the call ends, save the text or find it later in your session history.

Getting the audio in

LiveToka listens to your browser’s microphone input. To translate sound that plays on your computer, choose one of these — and tick 🔊 Computer audio next to “Save text” in LiveToka, which turns off echo cancellation and noise suppression so the audio is not filtered out.

Option 1 — Speakers (quickest)

Play the audio through your speakers, not headphones, so your microphone picks it up. This needs no setup, but room noise and low volume reduce accuracy. If the transcript stays empty while audio is playing, make sure Computer audio is ticked, or use option 2.

Option 2 — Virtual audio device (best quality)

Frequently asked questions

Does LiveToka join the Zoom meeting as a bot?

No. It runs in your own browser and listens to the audio on your device. Other participants do not see it.

Does it work with Google Meet and Microsoft Teams?

Yes. Any call you can hear on your computer can be routed into LiveToka the same way.

Can other participants see the translation?

Only if you share your screen with the LiveToka tab.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. New accounts get 10 free minutes after signing in with Google — no credit card. Transcription uses credits at 1× and translation at 2×, so that is up to 10 minutes of transcription or 5 minutes of translation. Paid plans start at $9.9/month.
