# LiveToka

> LiveToka is a browser-based tool for real-time speech transcription and translation. It recognises speech in 55+ languages plus bilingual modes and translates each sentence into 100+ languages while people speak. Audio can come from a microphone, a virtual audio device or a shared browser tab.

Key facts:
- No installation: runs in Chrome, Edge or Safari on a computer. Capturing audio from a browser tab (YouTube, web Zoom, Google Meet) works in Chrome and Edge.
- Browser extension for Chrome (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/peilkelccjkmpjgebndhncmfgjdmdmhn) and Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/livetoka-live-translate/): live translated captions shown on top of any tab (videos and streams without subtitles, Google Meet, Teams, Zoom web), meeting mode with the microphone, fullscreen captions, transcript with TXT/SRT export; same account and minutes as the website. Edge can install it from the Chrome Web Store.
- Bilingual recognition modes: Mandarin & English, Spanish & English, Malay & English, Tamil & English.
- Pricing: new accounts get 10 free credit minutes (translation uses credits at 2x, transcription at 1x). Subscriptions start at $9.9/month. A one-time Minutes Pack costs $4.99 (60 minutes of translation or 120 minutes of transcription) and never expires.
- Output: live on-screen transcript and translation, full-screen caption view, copy, TXT and SRT download, saved history with CSV/JSON export.
- Privacy: audio is processed in real time and not stored; text is saved to history only while "Save text" is on; data is not used to train AI models.
- Limitations: no automatic speaker labels; desktop apps on Mac need a virtual audio device (e.g. BlackHole) to be captured.
